Clean facility. Helpful employees.
This is a humane society that puts "county" in their name making it appear that they are part of local government. They are NOT a county agency. Do not expect them to assist all residents of Marion County. I contacted them after the 4th stray cat showed up at my house. I neutered the cat. Too many cats here so wanted to place at shelter. Was told "They were full and did not accept owner surrenders." It took them over 9 hours to respond. Didn't know they interpret law too, I am in no way the owner.
Nice facility! Just adopted a puppy from them! Very happy! He is so adorable!
We just adopted what was formerly a homeless cat there. They trained this cat well and it is in excellent health. Kudos to Cindy Rasmussen and her staff for a job extremely well done as our new cat had adapted very well in an amazingly short period of time to living in our home. Truly compassionate and dedicated folks there!
Also one of the main board members 2 dogs are running free most of the time. Can't even care properly for their own pets.
